What's baking

The weather is changing, and so must the flavors. This week, I want to make something wonderful with apples. The goal is something portable that does not require a fork or plate—and that is how Apple Crisp Cups popped into my head and demanded to be made.

I have now made more than one successful loaf of Sourdough Bread, but each one still takes nearly a full day. With time, that may become only 20 hours instead of the 24 I am using now...or this may simply be my new way of life. While some people have to go home to take care of their dog, I will have to go home to fold Fiona’s dough.

There will also be Cookies this week-something decadent and beautiful-along with Focaccia Bread. There are always one or two other ideas sitting in the back of my mind, waiting their turn.

A quick note for anyone who used the QR code on my first printed business cards: there was an issue, and I apologize that the code stopped working. The uninteresting explanation is that I refused to let a tech company hold my QR code hostage for a recurring fee. The new cards will have a corrected QR code that leads directly to the website.

The menu grows slowly and on purpose. Something lands on it once it has been made enough times to come out right every time.
